The Basilica in Cartago

There is a spring at the Basilica and many people believe the water keeps you safe and can heal you.  We waiting in line to drink from it and to splash it on our faces.  We saw someone on crutches splashing it on his broken foot.  Many people have left little silver charms of legs or arms or whatever in thanks for the healing they believe the water brought them.

Lots of people were filling up bottles so they could take the water with them.

There were hundreds of people there.  They have Mass three times in a row (8 am, 9 am, and 10 am, just to accommodate all the people).

A stray dog wandered into the Basilica during mass and decided to take a nap on the tile floor.  I bet he liked that it felt cold.  I'm also very glad that no one kicked him out.

The inside was amazingly beautiful.

We attended the 9 am mass.

The beautiful ceiling.
